The breakout is ready to happen but Cobra and the gang must overcome several hurdles first, including finding the prisoner!

What They Say
Cobra is very known space pirate, but decides to change his face and to clear all his memories. He becomes a common guy, with a common job, and a very boring life, but suddenly he starts remembering his true identity and new adventures begin.

The Review!
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
Cobra's multi-episode story rolls right along as the group that Cobra is now part of must break out the guy they need from a slave prison / mansion in order to carry out their mission. The setup in the last episode was fairly decent, if a little drawn out at times, but it laid out for a fun story if it carries out the promise of it with a bit more tighter writing than we've seen in the past. That episode ended with the remaining members of the group taking different approaches to getting into the place so they can rescue the remaining member, King.

While we do get to see some of the others a little bit in their approach, the bulk of the focus is on Cobra himself and his somewhat direct approach. Working with Seven/Eight, he causes a small distraction to get into the cell block where King is supposedly being held. The problem of course is that nobody knows what King looks like so they can easily be taken advantage of in freeing the wrong person. What helps, and it was a given that it would be this, is that there's a very sultry and scantily clad young woman there named Ellis who insists that Cobra is not with King even though he's looking for him and that King would never leave without her. His bit of questioning ends up going a bit awry though as he ends up having to take up residence in one of the cells to avoid capture but that throws him into their clutches even more.

A nice chunk of the episode deals with Cobra having to fight in the ring against another prisoner, which could go badly as you can imagine the show playing to this angle for awhile. Instead, it quickly turns to a surprisingly good match between him and King as he has to convince King that he needs him and is there to help him escape. This leads to a really fun escape sequence as everyone else from the "card group" that's still alive pull off their various jobs for the escape which is well choreographed and again, simply surprisingly fun to watch play out. Unlike the mountain climbing episode, the group that's here is fun to watch, nicely designed and actively working together even though there are tensions between them.

In Summary:
The focus on getting King so they know how to get into Shiva Castle and defeat the Chaos Army is something that should take an entire episode to do and it does. The pacing for this storyline, which was just slightly off in the previous episode, feels like it's very well done here as everyone works well together. The focus is kept on Cobra of course but everyone contributes to the escape plan. We get two new characters stepping into the group now which can change the dynamic a bit but they seem to fit well. Something about this episode, even the animation, felt like it has been stepped up a notch or two as it's very engaging. Though the story itself is straightforward it manages to turn itself into an exciting run and has me actively looking forward to next weeks episode. Perhaps they can have a multi episode story that works well after all.
