While director Rob Cohen has said in some of his blog updates that the full trailer for The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor would be premiering alongside Universal's Wanted next weekend, he has gone ahead and published it at his official blog. The third installment in the popular franchise stars Brendan Fraser, Jet Li, Maria Bello, John Hannah, Michelle Yeoh, Anthony Wong, Luke Ford and Isabella Leong.

You can watch the full trailer by clicking here.

Plot Summary: The blockbuster global "Mummy" franchise takes a spellbinding turn as the action shifts to Asia for the next chapter in the adventure series, "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor." Brendan Fraser returns as explorer Rick O'Connell to combat the resurrected Han Emperor (Jet Li) in an epic that races from the catacombs of ancient China high into the frigid Himalayas. Rick is joined in this all-new adventure by son Alex (newcomer Luke Ford), wife Evelyn (Maria Bello) and her brother, Jonathan (John Hannah). And this time, the O'Connells must stop a mummy awoken from a 2,000-year-old curse who threatens to plunge the world into his merciless, unending service.

Doomed by a double-crossing sorceress (Michelle Yeoh) to spend eternity in suspended animation, China's ruthless Dragon Emperor and his 10,000 warriors have laid forgotten for eons, entombed in clay as a vast, silent terra cotta army. But when dashing adventurer Alex O'Connell is tricked into awakening the ruler from eternal slumber, the reckless young archaeologist must seek the help of the only people who know more than he does about taking down the undead: his parents.

As the monarch roars back to life, our heroes find his quest for world domination has only intensified over the millennia. Striding the Far East with unimaginable supernatural powers, the Emperor Mummy will rouse his legion as an unstoppable, otherworldly force...unless the O'Connells can stop him first. Now, in "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor," the trademark thrills and visually spectacular action of the "Mummy" series will be redefined for a new generation.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor will hit theaters Aug. 1, 2008.

I have to problems, what would arrows do to undead? Nothing. Also I watched the whole trailer and never saw . . . wait for it . . . A MUMMY. Other than that looks pretty frickin fun.

Call me crazy, and while Ms.Bello is indeed nice to look at,is this indeed a wise re-cast for the equally hot Rachel Weisz? Hmm,1 to ponder.Anyway, i gotta admit, the trailer doesn't look too bad for a franchise that hasn't seen the light of day in awhile, and considering the endless barrage of remakes currently being made, why not polish off a fan favorite like this.I will definitely check it out.

No Weisz means no money from me. I'm not going to pay to see this one. I'll wait til it hits HBO or something. I like Maria Bello and have nothing against her. But Wiesz is what made the first two Mummy movies enjoyable for me. Her and the scottish guy were the best parts of the first two.

"Equally hot"? Not by a long shot! All due respect to Ms. Bello (who is a looker), Rachel Weisz smokes her. Bad move to recast. I really don't want to like this, but the last trailer I saw (attached to The Incredible Hulk) looked pretty good. I'll have to wait until I see more trailer before I decide if I'll see it.

I really wish they just said "Evie is busy doing something with the Museum" and left it at that..
They didn't need to recast her altogether. Just say her character is busy.
But the movie does look fun. That's the essence of these Mummy films. Silly fun "leave your brain at the door" adventures.

Can someone explain to me why Brendan Frasier's son aged what appears to be like 15 years from the Mummy 2 to this one but Brendan Frasier is exactly the same!??? Did he become immortal after the last Mummy, hmmmmmmmmmm? scratch that, its 10 years he's supposed to have aged.

Brendan Fraser IS Immortal....I love these movies,,,,Jarrod said it best...silly fun where you leave your brain at the door. Who doesn't love that kind of shit....And I have to admit, I am a huge Rob Cohen fan. I loved Stealth, although, I think I am the only one to see it. Dragon, Dragonheart, Daylight, The Rat Pack, The Skulls, Fast and the Furious, XXX....all really fun movies.

Maria Bello vs. Rachel Weisz????....hmmmmmmm....... Are we talking about "Coyote Ugly" Maria Bello or "A History of Violence" Maria Bello? "A History of Violence" Maria Bello owns Rachel Weisz. If only my wife were such a woman ;)

to answer almostunbiased, the mummy is Jet Li. The trailer looked pretty cool. I'm now looking forward to seeing this movie. Nothing against Maria Bello, the only reason I would want Rachel Weisz is just because she was in the previous two mummy films and she was fun to watch in both of them. Does anyone know why she didn't reprise the role. I think Maria Bello will do good in this film. It was just the continuity between all the films that i wanted Rachel in it.

LOL! You got a very valid point in the History of Violence Maria Bello Darkheart.Always was a sucker for a cheerleader outfit. Also, good observation by Hanso. What's up with the age issues anyway?
