THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER announces that Irish actor Colin Farrell (DAREDEVIL, PHONE BOOTH) is currently in negotiations to star in Paramount Pictures/Mandalay Pictures' THE JACKET and HOME AT THE END OF THE WORLD, an indie feature.
JACKET, to be directed by Antoine Fuqua (MAN OF WAR, TRAINING DAY), is about a man imprisoned for a murder he did not commit. While imprisoned, he is tortured, and in the process, he is able to predict how and when he will be killed. Using his newfound senses, he tries to figure out a way to prolong his life and discover who his murderer is.
HOME, to be directed by Michael Mayer (THE ROBBER) is based on the Michael Cunningham novel about two boyhood friends, Bobby (Farrell) and Jonathan who come from dysfunctional families. Once old enough, the boys move to New York City, and room with a woman named Clare. The three have an interesting relationship, as Bobby fathers Clare's baby and Jonathan is gay.
Farrell is expected to receive something along the lines of $8.5 million for JACKET and scale for HOME.
Production for JACKET begins in March; HOME begins production in May.
