Just a few days after Janeane Garofalo was cast in Fox's 24, another casting addition has been announced by Hollywood Reporter. Actor Colm Feore will be joining the cast as "First Man", husband to the newly appointed President (also a new casting additon, Cherry Jones). This brings the new casting to three with Feore(First Husband), Jones(New President) & Garofalo(Investigator/Gov. Agent).

Still no word yet on what the storyline will be about..As I wrote in the other articles about the show, Fox chose to drop the original intended story that producers Surnow and Imagine Entertainment had planned. Production begins on the new season of 24 on September 10.

Sounds like they're shaking things up good and proper.

For those of you interested... Feore was in the top grossing Canadian film of all time, Bon Cop Bad Cop... and even being Canadian I usually avoid Canadian cinema, but this movie kicked major ace.... Great cop buddy pic, if you can find it give it a viewing, the ending alone is worth it.... and Feore played a great walk the line by the book cop... so he should make a great addition to the 24 cast.

i can already guess that he's gonna be kind of a bad guy..like in every movie i see him in, he's a bad guy

"Born in sin...come on in! Born in lust...turn to dust."

He was pretty mencing in Stephen King's Storm of the Century. Evil. I hope he plays a baddie on 24.

Good for a fellow Canadian! He was President Adar on BSG and acted the role of Canada's Prime Minister Pierre Eliot Trudeau a few years ago. It's hard to get good work on Canadian shows because so much of our creativity heads south. I was forced to see "Bon Cop/Bad Cop," in which he starred, and we couldn't even stay to the end; it was so bad!

Good for him!
Edit: I hadn't read your comment before posting madmaniac999. No offense, bub.

One request guys! No more presidential take over attempts. Tom Lennox type characters wanted. Disgruntled, but not insubordinate. Let's keep a president for a little while. Thanks for your time. The following takes place between 8:30am and 9:30 am

While I think Feore can certainly make for a great bad guy, I sincerely hope that as the "First Man" or whatever his title is, he will not be a bad guy. It'd be far too hokey for the President's husband to be in on some terrorist plot to destroy the world. I would rather he stumble on to some secret related to the overall plot and help Jack Bauer or the President in foiling it.

S@#*! I was hoping they would completely leave the President out of this one. Now we are going to get that crappy soap opera stuff from last season. Enough...how much more can happen in the White House? After the first Palmer and then the evil Gerorge, um, I mean the George clone (who seemed to turn into a bearded Al Gore after he lost the election look) they should have left well enough alone. I just wanted something different...without CTU and the White House. Well, let's keep our fingers crossed. Now we get the Hillary clone (wouldn't it be interesting if she was a Republican this time...I'm not buying that the producer is a Righty.) Sigh, Jack takes the back...seat.

BTW, there is NO story yet. They are just stunt casting. Hoping that will do the trick. They never had the story written before and the last we heard, their African idea was nixed. They obviously, and this was very, very evident last season, make it up as they go along.

CappyMorgan,

Don't be too disappointed - season 7 will NOT feature CTU. I read some descriptions of major details involving plot and supposedly CTU has been disbanded by the government, but former agents may still be doing terrorist investigations somehow.

I think it would be very interesting if the new President were a Republican. 24 has seemed to almost alternate between Republicans and Democrats in the White House, so this turn around should feature a Republican. I've also read several interviews with Joel Surnow - he most definitely is a hard-line Republican.

No CTU? Great! I think that place was compromised about a dozen times. How many moles did they have working in that agency? Plus, it was growing stale.

Surprised that Surnow is a die hard. I mean, if you look at the show, the Presdients who have been portrayed in the better light have been Democrat. Convservative Democrats mind you. Gotta love their stance on terrorism. Too bad the most convservative in our government don't take the same stand.
