Columbia Grabs HIGHBINDERS

Columbia TriStar has acquired the worldwide rights to Jackie Chan's HIGHBINDERS.
The film, which at a budget of $34M is the higest of any Hong Kong production, will be distributed worlwide (including Asia) by Columbia TriStar.
The film, which has been shooting around Chan's other obligations (including THE TUXEDO for DreamWorks), is expected to wrap production early next year. In the picture, Chan plays a Chinese immigration officer investigating an international slave ring. Previous reports have suggested that the film might also have supernatural elements in it.
HIGHBINDERS is being directed by Gordon Chan and also stars Lee Evans and Claire Forlani. The script was written by Bey Logan, Bennett Joshua Devlin and Paul Wheeler.
