Columbus: Acting in HARRY POTTER 2 will be "much better"

In a short interview teasing the upcoming HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS, POTTER 1 director Chris Columbus said he expects viewers to see a significant improvement in the acting for November's installment of the J.K. Rowling series.

"The kids are much better actors," Columbus was quoted, referring to franchise stars Daniel Radcliff, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson. "Since these movies take as long as three normal movies, it's like they have six under their belts now. We've worked on Quidditch and some of the effects as well."

This will be the last POTTER film for Columbus, but not for Radcliff, Grint and Watson. While SECRETS opens in November (it started shooting days after the release of the first POTTER film) the trio will be back for HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN, which begins shooting under director Alfonso Cuaron (THE LITTLE PRINCESS) next year, for a 2004 summer release.
