Variety reports that Chris Columbus, the man who directed the first two HARRY POTTER films, is being wooed by Universal to make the live-action SUB-MARINER movie. Based on Marvel Comics' superhero character, the Sub-Mariner is an aquatic prince of Atlantis named Namor. Throughout the years the hot-headed Namor has found himself both helping and harming mankind as his ocean world is threatened by pollution, invasion and war. The character has mostly turned up in the pages of FANTASTIC FOUR but has also appeared in several of his own series.
Universal has been developing a SUB-MARINER movie for several years now. The script is by David Self (ROAD TO PERDITION).
