I agree that V was emasculated. It's okay on it's own. The production values are high and I enjoyed it even though it can only disappoint, in some respects, those who read the graphic novel, which I did. I might have liked the screen treatment of the end better than the novel treatment, but I'm not sure since the novel has faded from my memory. (Who didn't like that knife throwing showdown scene?) Getting older might have something to do with it. But I do remember being disappointed that critical elements (the duplicate monitoring station) in the novel were not respected in the big screen translation.
