A sampling of superhero!

By Rob M. Worley     April 27, 2009

Free Comic Book Day is this Saturday.

Just drop by your local comics shop and say, "Please, sir, may I have a free funnybook." And they'll give you one.

Just like that.

They might even give you more then one.

This year the industry is offering up 40 titles covering a variety of tastes and interests. All week Mania will spotlight groups of titles to guide you through the generous offerings of the united comics publishers and stores.

Today we're looking at sampling of the super hero books that you can get just by visiting your local shop on May 2nd.

STYKMAN 4/27/2009 9:55:08 PM

FCBD is one of the best annual events in all of comicdom. As a creator it is truly rewarding to watch the excitement of existing fans and those new recruits welcomed into the weird, little world of comics.

I, too am looking forward to the Green Lantern series by Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver. I will be part of the same event in Phoenix, Az at Atomic! Comics. We will be signing autographs and providing sketches for The Hero Initiative.  I think it only appropriate that I "Geek-Out" a little and get a couple of books signed as well.  I look forward to seeing some you guys there.

P.S. Mention this post and I'll have something special for you. ;)
