Comic Con 2010 Toy Exclusives Report

Toy Maniac’s Final Report!

By Bob Trate     July 16, 2010

The 2010 San Diego Comic Con is almost upon us. Hopefully you have checked out my column from last week (the Survival Guide) and are gearing up for Nerdvana. Well this week I was inundated with emails about even more exclusives. Hasbro finally has provided some incredible pictures of theirs and I added a few more that I know you’ll have to have. Remember the exclusive toys at Comic Con are a crazy thing. Some can double or triple their value in a matter of hours. Others, like many of the Star Wars exclusives, usually end up going on sale on the Star Wars website. If you are a collector go after what you really want first. If you are in it for the money then by all means go after the limited edition items first and foremost. This final report is obviously not everything. Check the Toy Maniac’s First Look at Con Goodies for more of the exclusives.

Mattel and MattyCollector were covered a couple of weeks ago (see column). MattyCollector once again outdid the other toy companies by having a special presale with vouchers earlier this week. The SDCC Orko (with the Color-change Feature) sold out in 3 minutes. By the end of day practically everything was gone. See the complete list here. Good luck if you are going after anything from MattyCollector. That line is going to be long.

That figure holding the Azkhaban sign looks like Kurt Cobain with his head re-attached with that neck brace.

That's what I was thinking TheWORstFan.  Just weird.

Ever since I saw that ginormus Galactus on Attack of the Show, I knew what I was going to buy right then and there.

why does everything have to be an exclusive limited supply... F collecting, let all the fans enjoy... I keep my comics, but could give a rats ass if it's gonna be worth $$$. these toys (especially Matty collector) should be available to fans, not just money hungry collectors...
