The San Diego Comic Con is ripe with goodies, freebees, swag and tons of exclusives. Toy companies both big and small have that little extra something that you can only get at Comic Con. If you can’t get to Comic Con fear not, many of the exclusive toys are offered online the week of Comic Con as well. We here at Mania are already coming up with our game plan, taking orders from friends and figuring out what is worth picking up. Here is your look at Comic Con’s 2010 Toy Exclusives.

2010 SDCC Action Figure Spotlight

Hasbro announced many of their exclusives at Toy Fair back in February. What really makes the Hasbro exclusives stand out is the artistry of the boxes and packaging (see last years). Look for the Iron Man Mighty Mugg with sliding faceplate. The G.I. Joe collection will have Sgt. Slaughter rejoin their ranks. The Marvel Universe line will have a 19 inch Galactus, carded. What should grab fans’ attention are the Ultimate Capt. America and Ages of Thunder Thor figures for the 3.75 inch line. The Transformers line features a sequel to last year’s SDCC Transformer exclusive Soundwave as Blaster will be this year’s Transformer.

There are tons of Mattel Exclusives again this year. The full list is up on MattyCollector (seen here). Without boring you with redundant details here are my top two. Mo-Larr, theEternian Dentist, is a must have. The figure, the packaging, everything is perfect (see header). Another awesome figure is the Retro-Action figure of The Real Ghostbusters Peter Venkman. By making it in the style of a MEGO figure it has that perfect Comic Con kitsch that makes it a collectible. If Mattel’s booth sells out of what you really want they should have it by the next day. Last year they even handed out line vouchers making it easy to get in and get out.

Mezco has several exclusives this year but what makes them stand out are their limited quantities. If you do get your hands on a Mezco exclusive in a matter of moments its value could go through the roof. This year Mezco will be releasing two sets of Mez-Itzs that have our attention. The first set is from the film Kick-Ass featuring both Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl. The other marks the debut of Mezco’s pairing with DC Comics and it features Batman and the Joker.
Sideshow Collectibles

2010 SDCC Action Figure Spotlight

Sideshow Collectibles are a bit pricey. However, if you have never owned one or seen one up close let me say that the price is justified (see my review). This year Sideshow has announced five Comic Con exclusives. Many have been pre-ordered and a few are already sold out. Here is the thing with their Comic Con pre-orders, if they aren’t picked up by a certain time and day they go back up for sale at the Con. Check in at their booth for the exact time and you might just get lucky. Check out the pictures below and their site for all the details.
Tron Legacy

2010 SDCC Action Figure Spotlight

No, this isn’t a new toy company but we should come to terms with the fact that this year Comic Con will belong to Tron. Spin Master toyswill be releasing two Tron Legacy exclusives. The first is a die cast Tron Light Cycle (limited to 3000). Their other exclusive is a Tron Light Rider Figure(limited to 1500). Medicom will be releasing a Tron Bearbrick but I am sure there will be a few others as well.
That is a just a few of this year’s exclusives. Now you know what you have to do next. Make up a game plan, call in some favors and get ready because Comic Con 2010 is right around the corner. Keep checking the Games and Toys section of Mania for updates.

The TRON toys look cool!

Mo-Larr? Are they just making up these characters as they go? That looks like Sylvester Stallone meets Marathon Man.

Love the Skrull Spider-Woman, as well as the Ghostbusters and Tron toys.

Hasbro Toy Shop will be following up last years amazing Soundwave reissue, with a similar reissue of Blaster and three of his cassettes.  THAT, is what I'm wanting!

Krathwardroid...i guess you have never seen Robot chicken or read the description of the figure where they explain where MO-LArr came from? Mo-Larr isnt a real heman action figure, well until now. He was part of a robot chicken skit and he was technically created by Seth Green. I guess you totally missed the point.

I sooo wish i could go to comic-con. Im deff gonna go next year. But im already goign to Celebration V in Orlando in august.

I think I'd end up broke if I ever made it to SDCC. After comics my biggest collection is from Sideshow with well over 100 statues. As a matter of fact I already placed my order for the Skrull SpiderWoman bust, only 300 made, 150 for the show and 150 for sale at their site. Lucky for me that I tend to check the site frequently and was able to snatch one of the few

Darkknight2280: I did now. Thanks. Didn't have time to last night. I also watched the Robot Chicken skit.
