Comic Flicks Push Sony Past $1 Billion

Sony is poisedto break the $1 billion box office barrier this month according to a report fromThe Hollywood Reporter.

The studio hasalready enjoyed huge bank from the record-smashing comic book flick Spider-Man.The webslinger crossed the $400 million mark this weekend, only the fifth movieof all time to hit that level and only the third to do it on it's first run.This weekend another comic book adaptation, the much-anticipated sequel MenIn Black II is setting holiday records. Also contributing to the currentsurge is the Adam Sandler comedy Mr. Deeds.
