French comedy Western "The Daltons" has secured E1 million ($1.18 million) from North Rhine-Westphalia's state film subsidy Filmstiftung NRW.

The grant makes it possible for the $25 million film to shoot at the MMC Coloneum studios in Cologne.

Philippe Haim's pic, which is based on the "Lucky Luke" comics of Belgian and French comic scribes Morris (also known as Maurice De Bevere) and Rene Goscinny ("Asterix"), stars German thesp Til Schweiger as do-gooder cowpoke Lucky Luke and Gallic comedy duo Eric Judor and Ramzy Bedia as the dastardly Daltons
