On display at the Master Replicas booth at this year's San Diego Comic Convention are a host of the company's new items for the next quarter including a number of replicas inspired by 20th Century Fox's ALIEN VS. PREDATOR movie. One of the most impressive (just for its sheer size alone) is the ALIEN VS. PREDATOR Alien Grid Head collectible.

The model is a full-size replica of the head of one of the Alien warriors scarred in combat with the Predators from the film. Cast in polystone resin, Master Replicas used the original mold created by special effects firm Amalgamated Dynamics Inc. for their head to ensure its likeness to the original. Measuring 17-inches tall by 12-inches wide by 36-inches deep, and weighing a sizeable 43 pounds, the Alien Grid Head is limited to 1,000 units only. Scheduled to ship in September, the Alien Grid Head is priced at a cool $599 and can be ordered from the Master Replicas website.

Also on display at the company's booth was a prototype for the STAR WARS AT-AT Imperial Walker collectible. Scaled at a one-to-one ratio from the original ILM models used in the filming of THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, this piece of Imperial shock troop technology strands 19-inches tall and is comprised of over 230 separate parts. Cost: $1,199 of your bling-bling. The satisfaction you get from lording it over all your STAR WARS geek friends: priceless.

Master Replicas also has an engineering model of the One Ring of Sauron from Peter Jackson's LORD OF THE RINGS on display. The replicas, which will also feature a motion-activated Elvish script that glows through the gold, are priced at $199 and also go on sale starting in September.

Who needs to pay rent, right? As always, click on any of the photos to see a larger view of the friendly Alien.
