Comics2Film has received word from inside sources that Classic Media will be unveiling the 'Turok' animated movie at Comics-Con International in San Diego.
Created by writer Gaylord Du Bois and artist Rex Maxon in the 1950s for Western Publishing, Turok was a native American trapped in a valley of dinosuars.
In the 1990 the character was updated as part of Valiant Comics' revival of many Western Publishing characters. This lead to a successful video game based on the dinosaur-hunting bowman. A new 'Turok' video game for Xbox 360 and PS3 is slated to debut later this year.
A January report from The Animation Guild blog revealed that a new animated feature 'Turok, Son of Stone' is now in development.
According to our source, fans headed to Comic-Con this summer will see the first footage from 'Turok' at a panel discussion by the direct-to-video film's creative team.
