Genshiken is doing very well. Nodame Cantabile not quite so good. I mention this because these
are two recent titles that fall into that mature line-up. Basalisk has been pushed to next summer
to be released with around the time the anime comes out. Expect something different in how this
is packaged, as Del Rey wants to make their mature mature titles stand out.
They will continue to pursue more josei and seinen manga, for they believe there are readers that are outside
the teenaged girls market most publishers are focusing on.
Expect around 80 to 90 volumes to release from Del Rey next year. They have been very successful in their
first year of publication. Dallas also mentioned he is looking at publishers outside of Kodansha.
New titles (due out spring 06):
School Rumble by Kobayashi Jin (currently running in Weekly Shonen Magazine)
KageTora by Segami Akira (currently running in Weekly Shonen Magazine)
Del Rey is also looking at novels. Betsy mentioned that they are pursuing the novel that Basalisk
is based on.
