Comic-Con International: San D - Funimation

By Andrew Tei     July 24, 2004

Lance Heiskell ran the Funimation panel and started with the current
release schedule. The YYH boxset 1 comes out next week for $99.98. YYH

boxset 2 comes out in October. Kiddy Grade Vol 5 comes out next week.
DBZ Movie 9 comes out on August 17. Case Closed will be released on Aug
24.

Any information on the first two Detective Tenchi GXp Vol 5 comes out
in August.  September has another Kiddy Grade, but plus Dragonball
GT.

October 5 has the next release of Case Closed. On October 19, the
Shaman King first volume uncut comes out. Yu Gi Oh uncut will come out
shortly

after it also. After a logistical nightmare involving voice actresses,
October 26 will have the release of Sakura Taisen Sumire OVA for an
MSRP

of $9.99. November 9th is the release date for Spiral, plus the Fruits
Basket box. Dragonball GT Movie will come out at the end of May, which

features Pan as a grandmother. Kiddy Grade finishes up in November, and
Tenchi Muyo GXP finishes in December. On Janurary 16th, the first
volume

of Full Metal Alchemist will be coming out with a metal box. Funimation
will be have some premiums in it, and it will come out with 3 boxes.

November 6th, 11:30 PM will be when Full Metal Alchemist airs on Adult
Swim on cartoon Network. The first Full Metal Alchemist PS2 has been
moved

up to a November release for this year. The premiere of the Full Metal
Alchemist dub will be at Otakon next week, before the concert of L'Arc
en

Ciel. The DVD release of Full Metal Alchemist will have THREE boxes
split across the series. The art designer is working on something that
should

be interesting. Funimation is looking to put a tin or some type of
metal over the box. Also, the contract of Full Metal Alchemist is only
for 51

episodes.

In a few month, "tons" of Full Metal Alchemist merchandise will be
coming out. The Fruits Baskets caps which have been a con exclusive,
