At a Friday late morning panel at the San Diego Comic Convention held to promote the debut of Burlyman Comics, the owners of the company made a surprise appearance...none other than the directors of THE MATRIX trilogy of films, the Wachowski brothers.
On hand to show off Burlyman's upcoming two comic books was editor Spencer Lamm, SHAOLIN COWBOY creator Geof Darrow and DOC FRANKENSTEIN creator Steve Skroce. While the crack CINESCAPE coverage team were off...elsewhere (the BATMAN BEGINS panel -- no, honest!), the ace journalism department of Comic Book Resources were there and have now posted their report of the panel.
While Skroce and Darrow plugged their books, when the floor was open for questions the Wachowskis were hit with the inevitable queries about THE MATRIX films. The brothers confirmed that THE MATRIX ONLINE will continue the story after the events seen in THE MATRIX REVOLUTIONS. The siblings also revealed that they haven't ignored the critical drubbing the final two MATRIX films have taken, and have made plans to have critics included on the commentary tracks to be included in the forthcoming MATRIX trilogy box set of DVDs.
