I don’t know if it’s a slow week, or if I’m just looking forward to Siege so much nothing is really doing it for me. Regardless there are a few bright spots. I hope you’re all reading Ultimate Spider-Man and Fantastic Four because these are some of the most feel good comics out. Other than those I hunted down eight others I’m picking up this week. You can read about them below in:

Ben’s Ten

10) Batman And Robin #10
Almost off the Ten since the last arc. Here’s hoping for a comeback.

9) Jericho Season 3 #3
If you sent peanuts, this is for you.

Cover art to LOCKJAW AND THE PET AVENGERS #1 by Ig Guara

8) Lockjaw And The Pet Avengers Unleashed #1
So awesome!!!

7) PunisherMAX #5
Damn this Kingpin stuff is great.

6) Waking #1
Yes, it’s more zombies, but it’s also from the guy who wrote The Gift

5) R.E.B.E.L.S. #14
And making its Ben’s Ten debut…

4) Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #8
Even better since the relaunch.

3) Fantastic Four #575
I’m not one of the haters of the last creative team, but I have to admit this is good reads. I can’t wait until Franklin totally busts loose.

2) Ex Machina #48
Here is one I haven’t given much attention to because of the crazy shipping schedule, but with three issues to go you should do yourself a favor and hunt down the trades.

1) A-Team Shotgun Wedding #1
Of course this is #1.

Does anyone have any information about Wolverine Mr. X?  Other than it being the 47th Wolverine title of the month, just not sure what it is about.

Ben, have you decided on an official book of the Spinner rack yet?

Ummm, where is Image United?  Didn't the last book come out over 2 months ago?  I read that they were not going to have this problem, but I guess they were wrong.  Nice way to kill your company's big crossover while Siege and Blackest Night are going on.

cdale78 3/10/2010 7:00:21 AM

I agree, slow week for me.  Rebels is the only book I get juiced about.  Spider-Man has lost some momentum for me the past couple issues.  Ultimate SM is still good, but not the same for me as when it first started.  I've read nothing but positive things about the Hickman Fantastic Four stuff, but I just have never been a fan of the 4.  I like the Thing and the Torch outside of the group, but not together.

dbrock06 3/10/2010 7:36:21 AM

Cdale,  The F4 have been a lot better since the change in creative teams.  Give it a try.

cdale78 3/10/2010 8:21:46 AM

I'll give it a try in TPB, but I read the first arc was Mr. Fantastic heavy, multiple Reed Richards actually, and I find him annoying.  I read the issue with Spider-Man in it, and it seemed okay enough, but nothing that grabbed me and said "keep reading."

Only 5.5 more long hours of work and then I'm off to Orlando for Megacon 2010.  George Perez, Mike Mckone, Mike Choi, Olivier Coipel.  can't wait

dracor00 3/10/2010 8:37:45 AM

dbrock  -  my bet is its a wolverine comic spinoff for Mr. X  who first appeared as a wolverine villian and is currently on the Thunderbolts.  But i may be wrong

agentkooper 3/10/2010 9:20:41 AM

I got nothing on Wolverine/ Mr. X except that he's back.  I was interested in the book but couldn't top ten it because there is just too much Wolverine.

I did see a few preview pages and witnessed wolverine standing in line at a bank.  WTF!?  Where does he have the time to stand in line?  Shouldn't he bank online or have a debit card?  He's on about 50 teams and has 8 monthly series and 31 minis going and he has time to stand in line at the bank?

No official book of the Spinner Rack.  I'm loving the hell out of the house full of heroes approach Ultimate Spider-Man is taking, but I don't think there's enough readers to make that the book.

Nominations remain open.

cdale78 3/10/2010 9:35:55 AM

I'm still heartbroken over Mighty Avengers.  I don't know if I can open my heart to another book just yet to give it a nomination

lister 3/10/2010 10:35:37 AM

I am pretending that Mighty Avengers didn't happen. It was all a dream. I would love to hear an honest interview with the editor of that book about why this rushed and unbelievable Siege setup was necessary. I forgot to mention how incredibly dumb the exit lines for Cassie and Amadeus were.

OK I cannot dwell in my bitterness...

REBELS is my top pick. Word is this is ending the Starro arc, so if you aren't caught up yet, I'd hold off.

Cable and Dark X-Men were crap series.
Lockjaw and The Pet Avengers Unleashed--I'm all about the Ms. Lion! Er... Mr. Lion? Transgender Lion.
S.W.O.R.D.--It's a good read if you do all the issues together. Cut short in its prime.

Hulk Let the Battle END--Like, to-day!

cdale78 3/10/2010 11:45:42 AM

Actually, speaking of Hulk, I was pointed toward a pretty decent Hank Pym appearance in one of the issues of this Hulk crossover.  Whatever lame villains are in charge of this Hulk war were targeting the world's smartest men, and they went after Pym after Reed and Doom.

cdale78 3/10/2010 2:47:26 PM

not that i'm sticking up for Hulk, Hulk is still lame and stupid right now all around.  But Pym was good
