Tried to make up my mind yesterday if I should pick up Age Of Ultron.  I didn't, but I still might if you guys convince me.  I haven't kept up with the Marvel comicverse in over a decade, and I have no idea what is going on.  Is this crossover a good poing to jump in?  :)

The first issue of Age of Ultron is pure action galore and it's great art from Hitch, millean, trust me it's worth the cost of admission.

It's a great point of start up since even me who follows the Marvel U have no idea of the story or everything that's happened since the way the book is written, it's a story that has no details of what, who or how so it's excellent to start reading.

Bendis has done it again...

I bet that the Age Of Ultron leads to a reboot of the Marvel Universe al la the New 52

Cinemaman72...this is Marvel, not DC...they still know how to handle their universe.

A agree with Jedi.  Read the book on the train to work this morning and it was great.  And he's right, even people who have been reading Marvel are a bit clueless since it drops you right into this apocalyptic future or present.

And Millean, I think this is as good a place as any to jump on.  I started reading comics only a year ago when I jumped on as AvX started.  I ended up buying a bunch of previous collections and event compilations just to catch up but that was just me.  But if you start reading things and get confused the Marvel wiki is always a good resource to fill in the blanks.

Thanks ddiaz28....knew I was right.

At first I was afraid that Age of Ultron was going to be yet another world shaking epic crossover story, but thankfully, for the moment at least, it appears to be a stand-alone story set in an alternate Earth.  Thank the Gods for that, I am so tired off all these epic crossovers.

jedibanner 3/10/2013 9:32:45 AM

FerretJohn, not sure it's an alternate Earth since many of the Marvel books will have tie-ins from the Ultron saga. I don't know why there is such a hate for the epic crossovers...when they are well done what's the problem?

Lex0807 3/11/2013 5:43:03 AM

@Jedibanner: I think the 'hate' is due to the exaggerated amount of such stories in the last 2 decades, the amount of money people 'need' to spend to get the whole story for books they would not otherwise pick up, and the disappointment when so-called 'huge changes' are later undone or completely ignored in continuity. In essence, they are nothing but cash cows.  Other than that, this may be the first non-DC story I pick up, just out of curiosity.
