Good Job Joel...and thanks for everyone for making Joel welcome to Mania!

Invisioner and shac thanks. Hate to hear that Green Lantern is subpar, I love the character. But it brings a smile to my face to see you guys like Aquaman. I've always been a fan and the lack of respect for him has always been a shame

I will give the new 52 line some kudoos on the art aspect of some of the comics. To see Bret Booth back in comics under the Teen Titans is really fun. This from a guy who isn't a DC guy, just for the art Teen Titan, Red Hood and JLA is worth the money.

As far as crossovers from MArvel, for me it depends how it's done. I liked House of M, loved Civil War, really liked Secret Invasion and World War Hulk and Siege was a nice way to end everything.

The main thing I liked from all these titles is that all of them had really hard consequences on the regular comic so it wasn't just a ''let's find an excuse to have an event and then end it there''.

Fear itself was a borefest 100% all across the board. And that's my issue because that event was done just out of the blue, for no reason. All the other ones I mentionned, say what you will about Bendis or Millar but, they though things through and it showed because especially from Bendis, things were planned ahead years before each of the events started.

So, this new one A Vs X seems interesting, especially I just found out my comic shop let the comic out last week when officially it came out today...oops.

I'm pulling for the XMen in this one.  Sad for Marvel i'm only picking up the main 12 issue series not the tie in's.  I was happy with the 4 part X-Sanction.

Spoiler if you havent read it.........................................

I love Cable and am stoked to finally see what they do with him.  I mean out side of crappy X-Man we've never seen Nathan with his full untapped powers ever.  This is going to be awesome at some point.  I hope in the cross over.

As for DC I am very happy with the new 52.  I've stuck with GL, and GL New Guardians has me pleasantly surprised.  Justice League is a big reccomend and I am enjoying Teen Titans and Batman and Robin.

Im kinda tired of JRJ art work to be honest.  I dont understand why he is Marvel's tentpole artist.   He draws everyone the same.  I mean his style works with somethings(Kick Ass) but I can think of a lot of artists that would blow this book up.  Gary Frank, Oliver Copiel, Steve Mcniven, and Numerous others would make this series awesome.  JRJ is sort of played out for me.  THe stroy was OK though.

RantMaster, the writers AND artist will switch along the way in this series so, if your no fan of JR Jnr, he won't be there for the whole thing.

GO AVENGERS GO, beat these mutants to the end.

Wiseguy 4/5/2012 6:28:05 AM

I'm with with you RantMaster, not a huge fan JRJ. I think Marvel maybe keeps giving him high profile stuff because of his legendary father

jedibanner 4/5/2012 7:46:29 AM

Or that whatever the guy draws it sells out like crazy and lots of people like his art......

Wiseguy 4/5/2012 8:40:36 AM

or that his projects are so high profile they sell despite and not because of him. I know that's the case with me, I buy his stuff not because of him.. I do love some of his covers but in general his art just doesn't blow me away.

jedibanner 4/5/2012 9:15:01 PM

Or even his regular comics sell out just for him. It's ok not to like him but you can't deny his talent is the main selling point.
