This is a great read, Joel. You make me want to pick up NonPlayer #1, but since #2 is in such limbo, do I want to open a bag of chips I can never eat? Tough decisions.

Well said CyanideRush...there's enough book out there that I support and love to read but, kmowing it took 2 years for a second issue...what's to think of the 3rd and all the others after it.

Image has a great list of new stuff coming out every year and they have expended so much to the benefit to the ''indie'' market of comic book ideas but sometimes...if we can't read it...not worth my time.

Age of Bronze is a great exemple from Image where the last issue came out 2 months ago and the one before...3 years ago or something.

And let's not talk about Image's super book where all the original artist of Image brough their characters and draw them seperatly into a book written by Kirkman....still waiting for issue 4 and it's been at least 2 years...

I know we have a bunch of GRR Martin fans here, and we sympathize.  I've been waiting for Scott Lynch's third book in the Gentleman Bastard series for years now while he battles anxiety attacks and the like.  I suppose it's absurd for fans to get angry about these sorts of things, but the frustration is understandable from the other side, too.  Quite the conundrum.  Teeth-gnashing for the established fans, heart-rending (I imagine) for the creators, and also damaging for them, because, like you guys said, I'm not gonna rush out and pick this up even though it sounds really cool.

This reminds me of Joe Madureira's Battle Chasers.  The first couple of issues came out and were fantastic.  He was super popular (also having come off of Uncanny X-Men) and his work graced the covers of comics everywhere.  But after 9 issues over the course of 4 years, we'd all had enough and weren't surprised when he cancelled the solicitation for #10.

I'm with you dnbritt.  But haven't you read the great news?  Lynch's publishers have the final manuscript in hand and he himself has announced the release date of October 8th!  I'm so fracking excited!  This series is my favorite.  Even more than Ice and Fire.  If you don't believe me check Lynch's blog.  Here's a quote from it:

"Hopefully, if you’re reading this, you now know that the semi-mythical beast known as The Republic of Thieves has at last been captured in the wild and given official release dates: October 8th in the US and October 10th in the UK"
