While comiXology has had a good web presence from the start, its comics and manga platform really took off with the introduction if the iPad. That gained a lot of attention but also a lot of calls for an Android based app for it. Such things do take time, especially with the numerous Android releases and compatibility checks that need to go into place, but the folks behind the comics and manga reader now have an Android app in beta that uses the same methods and functionality as has been seen on other devices. This extended reach, which will definitely be more pivotal in the next year as the latest release of Android comes out that supports tablet devices, will further cement the ease in which people can get digital comics and manga and potentially grab consumers who would either never go in a comic store or have any place near them that they could peruse and sample from.
