IGN FilmForce is reporting that director John Milius has successfully acquired full financing for his proposed film, KING CONAN: CROWN OF IRON. While the film has remained in development hell, trying to secure an A-list actor to raise its profile and receive a greenlight from Warner Bros., having Milius secure independent financing means Warners no longer has to pay to make the film and can instead limit its risk by merely serving as a distribution partner instead.
FilmForce also reports that Milius is currently in Turkey scouting possible filming locations with CONAN's investors, and that the possibility remains for Arnold Schwarzenegger to star in the sequel. According to FF's source, the involvement of Schwarzenegger ultimately depends on whether he will seek re-election as the governor of California or return to his action star career.
