Yea man, Latinoreview debunked this rumor.
Last week Lionsgate and Nu Image/Millennium announced that director Marcus Nispel was taking the helm of the new 'Conan' revival and that the film is on the fast track. They weren't kidding around.
Yesterday the Hollywood Reporter's Risky Biz Blog tells us they're close to settling on a leading man and the choice may feel very, very familiar.
41 year old Austrian body builder-turned-actor Roland Kicklinger is said to be the favorite to play the barbarian king that Arnold Schwarzenegger first brought to the big screen. For better or worse, Kicklinger has been seen as a bit of a Schwarzenegger clone throughout his career.
He's played a light parody of the actor on shows like 'Son of the Beach'. He's playted the governator himself in the 2005 A&E movie 'See Arnold Run'. Where did we see him last? Playing a T-800 model killing machine in 'Terminator: Salvation.'
Risky Biz says the movie studio is currently "in talks" with Kicklinger to take on the lead role. The studio previously indicated they wanted to film the movie later this year.
On the other hand, Latino Review has posted their own version of things and claims the story is "complete and utter bullshit". According to "a super solid source at both Lionsgate and Millenium" the movie still lacks a casting director and nobody is in serious contention for the lead role.

I do not want an actor that is going to be seen as a watered down Ahnold for Conan. They grow em big in non German countries too!

I really think a more faithful Conan would be awesome. I hope they get it right.
We can do better than this guy. Although I have to be honest, I don't have an idea as to who should get the role. I'm torned between a good actor or a fitting physique. Hopefully we can meet somewhere in the middle. Arnie wasn't a good actor but his charm and personality went a long ways, plus he already had a fanbase to boot. Maybe this guy wouldn't be that bad a choice afterall, he does have some acting experience.
You cant replace Arnold sorry. Arnie was Conan, mind,body , spirit. It's like comparing oil to water.
Frankly i don't really care for a new conan.
You had to figure though that Kicklinger's name was going to come up even if only as a rumor but there is no way he can carry a film solely and would most likely have to rely on the supporting cast.
I am still holding out hope that a King Conan movie will come out with Schwarzenneger reprising the role. I can't think of any actor out there right now that could fill his shoes but I have faith in them finding an unknown and am more worried about the story. Do not want a Conan The Destroyer 2.
They need to keep Arnold away from this. I was looking at Arnie's film career, dude hasn't made one good film since True Lies in 1994! Crap all over the place from Junior all the way up to Terminator 3.
I didn't mean having Arnold in this revival/re-imagining/remake or whatever they are calling it. But a seperate film all together that coincides with the first two films. Kinda along the lines of what Stallone did coming back and doing Rambo & Rocky....
But I will agree he has done alot of crap films since True Lies, but I still enjoy them because I'm a fan.... well maybe except for Last Action Hero or Junior. I for some reaosn really liked 'End of Days' and thought that character suited Arnold very well, reminded me of his look at the beginning of Kindergarten Cop. Always wanted to see a movie where he was that guy the entire time.
Also like to say it feels good to be back on here after a 3 month hiatus.
This guy looks like 'Diet Arnold". Arnolds Conan was great, but if it' a relaunch I want to see something thats more faithful and less rooted in what conan movies were originally.
I always thought that WWE's HHH would have a good Conan look if you darkened his hair. Wether he can act the role believably on screen is another matter obviously.
Karl Urban could have been good in the role I think, but he did Pathfinder so I think the chances he would even consider or even be approached at this point are slim.
I really don't know who could make a good Conan. Do we want to hope to hit hold with a Random bodybuilder? Do we want to go for an established actor who can beef up a bit for the role or do we want a complete unknown?
