I do agree that 9 was seriously underrated.  I loved that movie.

Wait a minite...... I can not complain about this.  I have consumed a nice quantity of liquire and am ready to mispell,  mistype, and complain about everything.  But, Brad Bird, J.J and the unknown..... This might be a great film......

From what I've read Brad Bird is directing something called 1952 that just had George Clooney attached to it.

Soooo, unless George is going to be in Star Wars and 1952 is the codename for Star Wars at Disney, then you guys are out of luck.

It's easy to jump ship (see Matthew Vaughn). Not only that, it's not like 1952 is from a rival studio. It's also Disney which means they would probably accomodate a schedule around both or even remove Bird from directing and add him as executive producer like what happened with Favreau and Avengers.

ElBaz13 11/10/2012 9:38:48 AM

Actually, let's not discount Favreau.

There hasn't been much talks of the movie he was supposed to do for Disney, Magic Kingdom, lately so I'm thinking they could tell to get off that project as well.

Favreau or Bird.

I would down for Favreau. I loved the first Iron Man. I also don't think Iron Man 2 was as bad as most everybody makes it out to be. Sure it was a not as good as Thor or Captain America but it was still a good movie in most respects. If that is who Disney picked I would not be disappointed one bit. He is miles better than George Lucas and Iron Man made the Star Wars Prequels look like crap.

SarcasticCaveman 11/11/2012 3:03:44 PM

I honestly enjoyed Iron Man 2 every bit as much as Iron Man...I don't know if it was as good, but I definitely dug it a lot more than most also.  I am still pissed at Terrence Howard though.  I like me some Don Cheadle, but I dislike recasting in general.

The movies this guy wrote are Oscar level, so i hope they do hire him as a writer, hope they  humanise the characters, something that Empire did and thats why is considered the best of the saga. I dont see a problem with not following the expanded universe, this movies can go another direction and will be entertaining seeing the new Jedi Order with Luke as its leader.

Leigh Brackett and Lawrence Kasdan wrote Empire Strikes Back along with Lucas. That is why it is the best Star Wars ever made. It is because the other writers reined in Lucas to make the writing better.

That is why i believe the new Star Wars movies have the potential to be as good as Empire Strikes Back. I hope that they deliver.

As much as I love Spielberg, he's not the guy for Star Wars, and I respect him immensely for saying so publicly.
