IndianaJones.com has posted a press release which states Sean Connery will not be returning for the fourth Indiana Jones film .

Connery said in his statement, "I get asked the question so often, I thought it best to make an announcement. I thought long and hard about it, and if anything could have pulled me out of retirement it would have been an 'Indiana Jones' film. I love working with Steven and George, and it goes without saying that it is an honor to have Harrison as my son. But in the end, retirement is just too damned much fun."

The actor jokingly added,  "I do, however, have one bit of advice for Junior: Demand that the critters be digital, the cliffs be low, and for goodness sake keep that whip by your side at all times in case you need to escape from the stunt coordinator!"

I will still go see the movie, but it would have been pretty cool to see Connery come back for another Indy movie, let alone another movie.

Man, I saw an interview with Connery the other day, and then last night one with Ford, I gotta say it, Connery looks better than Ford does, man I gotta get me some of whatever shit he's taking. All in all bad news, Connery was a bright spot on the last adventure....

Yeah, it does kind of suck that he won't be in the movie...but nobody had better get the brilliant idea to recast Henry Jones, Sr. either. That would suck even more that Connery not being in it.

A sad day indeed.

I may not like that Connery won't be in the flick, but I like his quotes. He definitely sounds like it was a hard decision.

I guess after League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, I would probably retire too. The movie wasn't as bad as critics made it out to be, but it wasn't exactly the original Spiderman either. Maybe he will go golfing with Bob Barker and get into a fight. That would better than Barker vs. Adam Sandler in "Happy Gilmore."

By the way, if I develop a rash in prison, I can get out of it. Hmm.....

Damn Damn Damn ... he cant let LXG be his last film! He just cant! He has a GOLDEN opportunity to make a shit TON of money, and do nothing but act … given, acting can be hard … CAN BE … but Steven and George both said that they would play their age in this film and there would be no extra special stunts or anything … so why the NOT do it?

Oh well his loss … now I have to sit thru the shit hole actor Shia whatever his name is

I'm not sure what we would gain by his return. While I enjoyed the Dad vs. Jr. banter, I don't want another film of the same. And who knows - maybe he'll change his mind and make a brief cameo.

P.S. And somewhere in California is a judge who should lose his job.

I've been kinda nervous about this project since this thing got rolling. Connery's absence will be noted, but I think there are more critical aspects of this film that need addressing.
