Conroy back on American Horror Story

Announced via Twitter

The (old) gang’s almost all here for the new season of American Horror Story.

Creator Ryan Murphy announced via Twitter on Wednesday that Frances Conroy will join season one vets like Jessica Lange, Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters and Lily Rabe in the new version dubbed Asylum.

“Thrilled to announce Emmy nominee Frances Conroy is returning to AHS,” Murphy tweeted. “Devils and angels this year…Frannie plays the ultimate angel.”
All of last year’s stars are playing new roles in Asylum, which takes place in one for the criminally insane called Briarcliff Manor.  Lange lords over the institution as a nun named Sister Jude.

Conroy, along with Lange, earned an Emmy nomination in the miniseries category for season one of AHS. They’ll find out who will take the prize on Sept. 23.

The new season of AHS premieres on FX in October.

Thanks to Chopsaki for the submission.

I just don't get this series.  Granted I've never watched the show, but why would you keep the exact same cast as season 1, but have them playing totally new/different characters?  Just sounds weird and confusing.

I know people enjoyed this show but my wife and I watched most of the season and it just didn't do it for me. Although I do like the concept of each season being different, it's like an anothology series but by season. I wish we could get a new horror/fantasy anthology show on tv a la twilght zone/tales from the darkside. Something new mind you not a remake of those two.

Alexandra Breckenridge is the one they need to bring back. She plays the younger version of Conroy's charcater and she is super hot

Agree with shac.  My wife and I were excited for this since we love horror but by mid season were barely watching it.  I think we'll pass on season 2.

Funny. People try something different and people bitch. And how is it confusing having the same actors as long as the stories are completely different?  Do you get confused when you watch Nolan movies because he uses the same actors all the time.
