Arcana Comics has announced that it's signed a three-picture deal deal with Romark Films to bring comics 'Grunts', 'Coma' and 'Ripped' to the big screen.
Romark appears to be a new production shingle, headed up by filmmakers Mark Jonathan Stanley and Rock Shaink.
'Grunts', created by Keith Giffen and Shannon Eric Denton, tells of an American front-line platoon in World War II that encounters a squad of German superhuman soldiers. They use their resources to stop the super-Nazis, but can't halt the Eugenics Race that carries into present day. The book was published as a series by Arcana in 2007 and collected in one volume in 2008. A new book 'Grunts: War Stories' is expected out later this year.
'Ripped', created by Jay Busbee, is the story of Adam Fitzpatrick, a college dropout with the ability to travel through time. Adam is the only one who can stop the end of mankind—but will he be able to assemble the clues planted throughout history in time?
Deatils on 'Coma' are scant. Shaink is creating the comic as an upcoming title for Arcana.
Shaink is also writing scripts for all three films. Acana's CEO Sean O'Reilly is producing.
