Has Brian Blessed Confirmed THOR Casting?

Mmmmaybe we have confirmation that Brian Blessed is, in fact, Odin in Thor.

The Comic Reel at CBR has a report that the actor publicly confirmed his participation in the movie. A scooper emailed in a report that Blessed spoke at The Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards in Derby, UK. Blessed supposedly revealed the casting there.

However we can't really hold such an emailed report up as confirmation. In fact, this scooper may have sent the same email to Bleeding Cool last week prompting the original rumor. So, take it with a grain of salt. If Blessed is in, it'll be confirmed soon.

Gigandet Walks With PRIEST

The live-action adaptation of Min-Woo Hyung's manhwa series 'Priest' picked up a new cast-member this week, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Shirtless wonder Cam Gigandet has been cast as "a young wasteland sheriff who is part vampire," which I'm thinking may be the character of Coburn, although I'm no expert on the series. Gigandet was seen recently in 'Twilight' as the menacing James. He's also in the upcoming sci-fi thriller 'Pandorum'.

Scott Stewart is directing 'Priest' for Screen Gems from a script by Cory Goodman. TOKYOPOP publishes the english-language version of the comic in the U.S.

Michael De Luca and Stars Road Entertainment's Josh Donen are producing along with Mitchell Peck.

Bay Says to see TRANSFORMERS on IMAX

A posting from 'Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen' director Michael Bay gives fans an idea of what they'll be treated to if they see the movie in IMAX:

Hey everyone,

In Japan today. After a month and half seven days a week most days going till midnight me and my crew have just about finished Transformers. I have never seen such a level of dedication from every crew member in a movie before.

Even today after the press in Japan and right before the premiere tonight, I have to sneak out to a digital house to approve the last few effect shots.

It has been a long hard road, but really fun one to travel. What you will notice that is strikingly different than Transformers 1, is the level of animation detail. The robot characters (42 in all), you really can feel empathy for them. What is also very different is the sheer scale of the movie. We have been very tight holding back much of the best imagery in commercials and trailers.

The way to see this movie is on IMAX. Never before has there been 4k rendered character animation shot on full IMAX 70 mm film. This is a first and the results are stunning. You will see Optimus Prime in a few shots where he is actually perfectly to scale on the IMAX 50 foot tall screens.

For IMAX, I created a slightly longer cut with more robot fighting. Four scenes were shot on IMAX cameras so the screen will fill the full IMAX screen for these scenes.

Haters beware.

Michael

Another Marvel Movie Coming?

According to Feige, 'Iron Man 2' is in the action leg of production, with filming focusing on the big set pieces of the film.

Feige confirmed that Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston are officially cast in 'Thor'. He also said fans shouldn't expect the psuedo-Shakespearian dialogue from the comics.

With regards to 'The Avengers', Feige dropped the hint that Samuel Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston are signed on for multiple movies or "multiple franchises."

Feige revealed that Bucky will appear in the 'First Avenger: Captain America' movie.
