ABC is planning a new mystery series for their next midseason slate and they've found two lead stars to topline the production. HR is reporting that Steven Weber ("Brothers & Sisters") is in negotiations to play a lead opposite fellow newcomer, Ben Schnetzer, on ABC's midseason series Happy Town. Both roles were recast after being played by Dean Winters and John Patrick Amedori in the pilot.
Plot Concept: "Happy Town" is a mystery set in a small town rattled by the return of a serial kidnapper, known as the Magic Man. Weber would play John Haplin, whose family practically runs the city. He is obsessive and filled with agony over the disappearance of his daughter, kidnapped years ago by the Magic Man.
