Megan Fox is not in BATMAN

OK, so we keep getting emails about a story in Gordon Smith's Bizarre column in the UK Paper The Sun which states "Megan Fox has signed up to play Catwoman in the next Batman movie."

The truth is, whenever you hear casting buzz in Gordon Smith's Bizarre column in The Sun, you can pretty much call bullshit right off the bat.  Made up movie casting is the bread and butter of the entertainment section of The Sun. Remember, it was just last December that Smith claimed Eddie Murphy is The Riddler in the movie.

Of course, if we didn't want to dismiss the story out of hand we can look to People.com who checked in with their sources at Warner Bros. As expected the response from a studio rep is, "It's rumor. It's not true. There is no script. There is no project to be cast in."

But, we already knew that.

Bendis talks POWERS

Dave Richards at CBR has an in-depth chat with comics dynamo Brian Michael Bendis about the return of his acclaimed series 'Powers'. Bendis also touches on the development of the TV show based on the comic. According to Bendis, there should be a big announcement about the show that coincides with the release of the 10th anniversary hardcover edition of the comic.

"We have a director and a show runner and Sony is very positive," Bendis said of the show. "All kinds of good things are going on behind the scenes right now. They’ve just asked for more material and we’re putting together budgets as well as some other stuff. So we’ll see, but it is an expensive endeavor. This is one of those situations where our imagination and how inexpensive it is to put on the page flies in the face of how expensive it is to put on TV. When you’re only doing tiny bits of superheroics they’ve got to be great. They’ve got to be something really special and I think we’ve all seen the shitty CGI stuff. I don’t want to see it. I’d rather see nothing.

"I’m spoiled in m day job at Marvel. There’s always some really great artist that will make anything I think of come to life and it will look awesome and unique, whereas the people working on ‘Powers’ with me remind me that you can’t do that in TV. You have to imagine what the worst version is because that might be what you get. Mike and I have been working on ‘Powers,’ the comic, with the idea that we can do whatever we want, but the TV show is a different language. Having watched ‘Watchmen,’ I don’t want to see a direct verbatim adaptation of ‘Powers.’ I want to see something else. I want to see what the language of ‘Powers’ would be on television."

Paul Bettany in PRIEST

From the set of PRIEST

JFXOnline has posted the first spy images of actors Paul Bettany and Cam Gigandet on the set of the now-filming 'Priest'. Cameras are rolling on the adaptation of the TOKYOPOP Manga in in Long Beach, CA as we speak. The photos are behind-the-scenes spy stuff, and both actors are in full costume for the supernatural future western.

Not to be outdone, Collider.com captured some video of the actors (and possibly Maggie Q) from the same day of shooting.

GREEN LANTERN in Louisiana?

Remember yesterday when we speculated that the 'Green Lantern' may be seeking a home in one of the tax-friendly United States?

Well, /Film reports that that state may be Louisiana. A source informed them that the producers of 'Green Lantern' were scouting locations in the state, which recently hosted the 'Dead of Night', 'The Expendables' and another DC Comics film in 'Jonah Hex'.

The source re-asserted his story yesterday when the news broke of troubles securing the Australian shoot. The source now says with a certainty that 'Green Lantern' will film in the U.S., probably near New Orleans.

IRON MAN 2 Stunt Double talks Whiplash

When the going gets tough for actor Mickey Rourke, stunt choreographer Garrett Warren steps in to take the heat. In an in-depth interview, Warren told Movieline that he's doubled for Rourke on every movie the actor has done since 1996, with the exception of 'The Wrestler'.

So naturally, when the whips start lashing in 'Iron Man 2', it's Warren who is doing the cracking. It turns out that, aside from his close relationship with the actor, he's uniquely qualified to pull of some of Whiplash's moves as he's a whip specialist and adept at double-whip stunts.

"Double-whip basically means that you have two whips in your hands. I had brought two whips with me that are made of kangaroo hide that are incredibly well made. You can perform all sorts of tricks and cracks with them. In the movie, you won’t see those whips. They’ll digitally replace it with other types of whips," Warren said. "I don’t know if I’m at liberty to say what the whips will look like, but they’re going to be these super whips that have an awful lot of power. They can cut through cars, they can do an awful lot of damage. And when the movie comes out, you’ll see that he doesn’t do just whip-cracks and grabbing people. He lays waste to an awful lot of vehicles and street pieces and other things."

Warren goes on to describe some of the sequences where he got some screen time.

"At one point, Whiplash had to get hit by a car, and Mickey did the lead up to the stunt, and I did the stunt where the car came in and hit me and took me to the fence. So yes, you’ll see a combination of Mickey and myself," Warren revealed. "And when it comes to the whip routine, I have to admit, Mickey Rourke did a really good job with the whips. However, the suit was very painful at times. It was this big metal piece that wasn’t very comfortable, so he didn’t always want to do the whip routines every take. So I’d go in and do the whip routines."

IRON MAN 2 Stunt Double on TINTIN

In addition to his work on 'Iron Man 2', Warren is doing stunts in motion capture films like 'Avatar' and 'Tintin: The Secrets of the Unicorn'.

Of 'Tintin', Warren says, "If you read the book, it does follow an awful lot along with where the books have already set forward. It’s truly an amazing movie. [It] was a sleeper to me. It took me by surprise. We did a test for it two years before we shot it, and when we did the test it was fun and interesting. But oh my gosh — when we finally saw the movie, it was amazing. The stuff that Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson came up with, the performances of Daniel Craig, Jamie Bell, Simon Pegg, Andy Serkis — oh my goodness. You cannot imagine what those guys can do to words on a page. It’s one of the better movies that people are going to see, especially when it comes to being an animated movie."

He then elaborates on the look of the film. "It looks an awful lot like the cartoon. They really wanted to bring the cartoon to life. So if you know the cartoon, or have seen the books, that’s what it looks like. It’s beautiful. You would have thought to yourself that they would have tried to go for a more realistic look, but they’re actually trying to preserve the look and essence of the original Tintin characters."
