The new 'Iron Man 2' trailer is online. Plus: Webb talks 'Spider-Man'. Momoa talks 'Conan'. More! Coming in with a bad case of the Mondays, it's your Comics2Film 10.3.8!
The DesMoines Register chats up actor Jason Momoa, who is in the midst of grueling 6-hour-a-day sword training as part of his leading man duties on the soon-to-film 'Conan'. Check it out for an in-depth profile on the young actor who would be (barbarian) king.

It was the most successful comics-related film last year and the second most successful movie of 2009 but that didn't stop the critics from complaining about 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen'. Icing on the cake for the critical drubbing was the film picking up the "Worst Picture" award at the Razzies this weekend. According to Variety, it also gathered trophies for "Worst Director" for Michael Bay and "Worst Screenplay" for Ehren Kruger, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman.
In a non-C2F related story, the biggest quirk of the 2009 Razzies was Sandra Bullock picking up the "Worst Actress" trophy for 'All About Steve' during the same weekend she picked up her "Best Actress" Oscar for 'The Blind Side'. That is an awards season first.
MTV Splash Page got a chance to chat up director Marc Webb at the Independent Spirit Awards on Friday. Naturally they asked him about 'Spider-Man'.
Although Webb is staying mum on the details he said he feels confident that he's the right man for the job.
"I think that there's something about Peter Parker that's just... He's a legend," Webb said. "That mythology is appealing to me and it has been for a long time. It's just a dream come true."
As far as who might play Parker on the big screen, Webb refused to talk other than to say that they're casting "a wide net."
He did comment on his conversation with James Cameron and Jon Landau, the men behind 'Avatar'. Like that blockbuster, Webb aims to film 'Spider-Man' in 3D. Webb said team 'Avatar' are "fantastic representatives" of the technology and he plans to consult with them further as he develops his film.
But the director he's most worries about pleasing is Sam Raimi, whose previous movies set a high-water mark for comic book superhero films.
"[Sam Raimi] did something fantastic, but I do think the mythology of Spider-Man is wide and vast, and there's more opportunity to explore that cinematically," Webb said. "Sam is not only a great guy but a fantastic director and it's a humbling prospect, but I'm looking forward to it."
Webb said fans can expect to hear a lot more about 'Spider-Man' in the coming weeks.
