Continuing with the simulcast episodes, we get the next new (actually, it's a few days behind) episode of Baka and Test. I'm starting to wonder how this story ever got popular enough to become animated.

What They Say
After a typical mix-up, the class must work together to crack the safe holding the upcoming test. The exercise in teamwork will serve them well - three months have passed, so they're due for another battle!

The Review!
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
Perhaps Himeji and Akihisa are meant for each other. While their academic abilities might diverge wildly, their level of common sense is perfectly matched, along with their timing and carelessness. Right off the bat in this episode, Himeji, brilliant otherwise, fails in delivering a love letter to Yoshii in person (instead, giving him a bunch of photos of Yoshii in a maid outfit from last episode). Truly, their level of cluelessness is perfectly matched.

So it goes for the rest of the episode. Repeating jokes is what this show is all about, so it's no surprise that we get another appearance of Akihisa's older sister Akira trying to fulfill her incestuous desires (and thankfully failing yet again). A nutritional joke that does not provide enough comedy calories follows. Then we have Himeji's failed attempts at delivering a love letter (even after she had read a book specifically advising people how to deliver love letters). We get the usual shtick from Yuuji and Shouko, with Shouko constantly harassing and threatening Yuuji with a stun gun, this time presenting him with the menace of a completely filled out wedding registration certificate. We have Minami in a quest to gather all of the pictures taken of Akihisa in a female maid outfit. We have Hideyoshi trying to recover his missing costume for the drama club (a female nurse's outfit. Frankly, the Hideyoshi cross-dressing joke is getting boring at this point).

The main focus, such as there is, for this episode is a safecracking farce, as nearly everyone in the main gang of Class F somehow has something important to them accidently locked in the school's safe (thanks to Yoshii, of course), where they also happen to keep the upcoming exams. While the Class F gang is not smart enough to do it all themselves, they get an ally in their safecracking endeavor: Kyouji Nemoto, the class representative from Class B, who has his own agenda. They manage to break into the safe, and everyone gets back their items, but Nemoto takes a copy of the midterm test. As if anyone could not guess why he was involved in this in the first place...

Of course, while Yoshii and Yuuji are idiots, they are not going to let Nemoto get away with cheating, and so they devise a plan to put a stop to it.

If this show were any more predictable, I would be able to write my next review without watching.

In Summary:
So, there are several things which are more than abundantly clear now: Himeji is incapable of successfully expressing her feelings to Akihisa; in addition, her cooking is lethal; Akihisa is incapable of understanding Himeji's feelings, and thus will be doomed to never connect with her; Minami really likes to put Akihisa in leg holds and to see him dressed as a girl - sounds like a good basis for an unhealthy relationship; Shouko is a one-joke character, pulling out the stun gun on cue, like a robot (actually, many robots in anime have a much more dynamic personality); Yuuji is not the great mastermind he acts like; Hideyoshi does not seem to understand how boring cross-dressing can really be; and I am wondering how this show ever got made in the first place.
