SDCC: Ride in the GREEN HORNET's Car!

For those of you heading out to Comic-Con this week, here's a great "to do" item.

Sony is coming to the show with a big-time Green Hornet presence. Part of the buzz for this movie will be events happening at Britt Reid's Garage, located at Candy Factor in Petco Park, right across from the convention center.

What's cool about that? Well, any time during regular convention hours, fans can head over to the garage and ask for a ride in the Black Beauty. this is Kato's pimped-out battle cruiser, complete with rockets, flame-throwers and the like. Kato won't drive you but you'll get to chat with a sexy Green Hornette girl.

We've signed the Movie Maven Tara Perry up for a spin with the Green Hornet, so watch for that video coming online this week!

Dark Horse's HYDE Set for Big Screen

Heat Vision reports that the Dark Horse comic book update The Strange Case of Mr. Hyde is set for adaptation as a feature film.

Screenwriter Cole Haddon developed the concept which twists the classic Robert Louis Stevenson novella such that Hyde is the protagonist and he finds himself battling a historical villains (C2F Note: please don't let it be Jack the Ripper). Haddon will also write the script for the film.

BATMAN 3, IMAX and Riddler Talk

OK, so fans, rumor-mongers and news outlets of dubious repute have been shouting "Riddler!" as the villain for Christopher Nolan's third Batman movie since before the box office had even cooled to a simmer on The Dark Knight. The speculation and out-right lies about the character appearing in the movie have reached such a level that we pretty much just roll our eyes whenever a new "Riddler is in Batman 3" story goes into circulation.

Having said, that, First Showing brings the Riddler talk back to the surface, but with an interesting new twist that movies it from ridiculous speculation to something a bit more credible.

Their source tells them that they've seen a casting grid that lists the character as a role in the planned movie, which is set to go into production in the next 6-8 months. Now, a casting grid is a document that is circulated within the film industry to keep production companies, casting agencies and the like informed about various projects and the roles available within them. The casting grid is authored by the studios, and not by rumor-mongers or speculators.

So First Showing asserts that the fact that the Riddler is now showing up on casting grids is a strong indicator that Nolan, Nolan and Goyer have deigned to include the villain in their movie.

Another bit of info from the report: the casting grid also shows that Joseph Gordon-Levitt (currently seen in Nolan's Inception) is listed on the grid to play the Riddler. Now, according to First Showing, that may not be a lock. It may rather be a strong indication that the studio is working to sign the actor.

But there you have it: Joseph Gordon-Levitt seems to be attached as The Riddler in Batman 3 in what is perhaps the first strong bit of casting info for the film.

Meanwhile, Nolan's cinematographer, Wally Pfister is talking to MTV. He says that if he has his way, they'll film the entire movie in IMAX.

"I can't say until I read the script, but it would certainly be my preferred, amazing goal to shoot the whole movie in IMAX," Pfister said.

Pfister and Nolan had similar conversations about Inception but felt like the shooting process would prove too unwieldy. However, as a theatrical enhancement the cinematographer says he much prefers the giant-screen to the current fad.

"I must say I'm a huge IMAX fan. I like IMAX more than I like 3-D," he explained. "Chris' films are so densely layered and have so much going on visually in every way that IMAX helps enhance that because of the scope and the scale of it — it becomes a much larger canvas to paint on. That's what we found on 'Dark Knight.'"

Either way, Pfister admits they're going to have to work hard to top the stunning visuals of Inception.
