Nothing starts the Harvest Festival like a massive line of housewives going after free veggies.

What They Say
At the Harvest Festival, the Itsuki Seminar's booths are struggling due to Hasegawa's absence, and the Fraternity of the Farm is threatening to shut the operation down. Luckily, Misato and Kawahama have a plan.

The Review!
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
The busiest time of the year for the students is here with the Harvest Festival and Sawaki and his group is pretty busy as well considering what they've brewed up this year. Unfortunately, there's a somber note to it after the last episode with Hasegawa leaving the university just as Sawaki is realizing his feelings for her, on top of learning a few episodes earlier that his best friend from back home is now either cross dressing or had a full on gender change operation. Sawaki's taking his issues out on everyone even while dealing with the fermentation, which is cute since we see so many of the microbes floating all over the place from it in such a happy state.

Hasegawa's leaving has definitely hit the group hard, especially after being rather wiped out from the events of the festival itself. The professor is rather saddened to give them the news, which includes the fact that she's now likely heading to France to get married and whatever she's left at the university can be thrown away or burned, and that only makes the impact all the more striking for all of them. Though they can't be entirely sure that Hasegawa wants to be saved, they feel that she must and that they want to do just that so they all start working hard by showing of a nice bit of skin and cosplay to try and raise money so they can win the big prize which will give them enough money to get to France.

The way they come up with funds is definitely amusing, especially when it shifts to the black market aspect of it with Misato and Kawahama coming up with the best item from a performer that they can sell. It's pretty odd to be sure, but it lights up the fanboys eyes and they go whole hog after it. Everyone is doing everything they can in order to go find Hasegawa and bring her back to the university, though of course if it involves Kawahama and Misato, it will go horribly wrong at some point. And Sawaki will be blamed for some part of it. On the plus side, we do get to see a very beautifully dressed Hasegawa enjoying the luxurious life and that in itself is a very worthwhile moment, whether it's at the end or the eyecatch itself.

In Summary:
Moyashimon has a pretty mediocre episode at best in some ways because not much happens and it's just trying to get the stage set for the final two episodes that are left. Having Hasegawa out of the picture doesn't affect it too much as she's had a minor role before, and we do get some fun with the other women as they play up the costume side a bit and the festival in general is a good bit of chaotic fun. But when it turns to the auction and some of the other moments, often with Sawaki being so out of it, Moyashimon drags a bit and loses its steam. With the need to get the funds and head to France, I'm curious how they'll pull it all together to make it work since it doesn't seem to fit the flow of the show to date and the whole thing has left me feeling rather odd about it.
