The production and release of the Hellsing OVA series has certainly been a troubled one on both sides of the ocean, but AnimeNews.biz has found out word via Young King Ours magazine that June 22nd is now a confirmed release date for the 8th episode of the series. (note: we had originally listed it as the final episode of the series, but had misread the phrasing, as there are two more episodes to go) There's been delays between releases for a number of reasons and the production for this one is being done by studios Graphinica and Kelmadic, which is mad eup of people who worked at Gonzo previously before being laid off when that studio essentially went through its collapse and restructuring.
Hellsing's OVAs were in limbo in the US for quite some time after Geneon itself went under until FUNimation announced their partnership with Geneone Japan last year at Anime Expo. Only the first half of the series saw release from Geneon USA and FUNimation has yet to announce what their plans are for anything related to the series.
