What They Say
With many of its central personnel lost in the war, the Earth Federation Government is forced to rebuild, and Brian Midcrid, president of the Unified Colonies, takes the position of its president. During an emergency session of the Federation Diet, he publicly acknowledges the existence of extraterrestials, and reveals the events of the L5 campaign to the masses in what will later come to be called the "Tokyo Declaration". He goes on to state that these aliens pose a serious threat to humanity.
President Midcrid continues, asking for the colonies to unite with earth, and to expand their military forces in a plan called the "Aegis Plan". Under the plan, new weapons are developed, and more mechs are mass produced as the entire planet's defense network is strengthened. But threats still lurk in the shadows. The remnants of Bian Zoldark's "Divine Crusaders". Those within the Federation and its army who plot to turn it into a military dictatorship. And none have yet realized...that the true threats are coming from a world "so close, yet so very far away", and a world of silence...
The planet is being invaded by foes from a parallel world, and from the past.

We pick up the story on the Moon, where Shuu has disabled the Inspectors' robotic army single-handedly. It seemed too easy, but we will not know why at this point. Back on Earth, Sophia Nate has woken up and vows to rebuild Project Ark. The whereabouts of Egret Feff are unknown at this point. The last piece of scum to be cleared away, but not just yet.
But none of this is our heroes further concern. Admiral Garret orders the Hiryuu Kai battle group into space. Lefina's mission is to head to the L5 zone, where the Einst and the Inspectors seem to be gathering, and reconnoitre the position. So a brief respite before returning to action. The respite is necessary. For it gives Dr. Radom time to finish work on the Alteisen Riese, Kyousuke's newly repaired and enhanced unit.
In the meantime, Wendolo and Mekibos are in space, fighting off the Einst, presumably. Mekibos is worried about the unexpected forces that are around, but Wendolo seems oddly at peace. He hints darkly that destruction is about to occur, destruction that will allow for creation.
But we have no time for the Inspectors. We're back on the Kurogane headed into space. Gilliam is trying to figure out why Kyousuke and Excellen were able to hear the voices of the Einst the very first time they came upon them. The only thing the two have in common that is separate from anyone else is a bad crash that almost killed them both. Lamia actually mentions the crash before anyone else can, as it apparently happened in the parallel universe as well, except that Excellen died in that world. Kyousuke, however, though near death, made an incredible recovery, one that medical science could not explain. The crash happened long ago before any of the wars, involving a military shuttle carrying officer candidates for the EFA. There were only two survivors: Kyousuke and Excellen. Though officially reported as an accident, Gilliam now reveals the truth: something hit the shuttle. At the time, it was theorized that it was an Aerogater reconnaissance unit, but no traces of the object that hit the shuttle were recovered. In this world, it was Excellen who was near death and made a miraculous recovery. Gilliam now has a theory as to what actually happened to the shuttle, but before he can speak, the alarms on the ship sound as all personnel are ordered to battle stations.
It's the Einst. The personal troopers head to battle. So, we get little snippets of Yuuki Jaeger, Ricarla, Seolla and Arado fighting, as well as Kusuha and Bullet. Of course, with the Guardians in action, it brings out Alfimi, who states that she will not let them interfere. Back on the Kurogane, Kyousuke can feel it, he can feel Excellen's presence nearby. And so she appears, moving faster than anything out there. Tetsuya is worried, because their bullets aren't hitting anything, but they have one more unit to launch: Kyousuke heads out in his refitted Alt, heading straight for Excellen. She seems to sense that she is his target and begins to move off. Minor Einst that get in his way get nothing but a unicorn attack (seriously, the Alt has a horn on its head that slices through them). The Kobayashi sisters follow Kyousuke, letting him know that some sort of psychic field is surrounding Excellen, and is probably the cause of her being under the Einst's control. Alfimi now moves to intercept Kyousuke, but he basically yells that Excellen has nothing to do with her plans, and he will take Excellen back. The sound of his voice seems to have some effect on Excellen, as she appears to wake up from her trance. She summons the strength to attack Alfimi, but then seems to lose power afterwards.
Alfimi is upset at Excellen has turned, but she goes back to her real target, Kyousuke, summoning a whole host of Einst to surround and capture him. The new Alt, however, is not so easily capture. Even though seemingly pinned down by a horde of Einst, it breaks free of them. Alfimi now has to reactivate her hold over Excellen, which seems to be transmitted through a jewel attached to her unit. Kyousuke goes after her, to destroy the jewel, while all of the Psychodrivers combine their power to lock Alfimi within a psychic energy cage. Kyousuke saves Excellen, but then has a vision. A being, which one can only guess is the Einst Leader, tells him that he is an incomplete being, and cannot become a perfect being. The perfect one lies in the other world (an obvious reference to Beowulf, the psychotically overpowered Kyousuke Nanbu in the Shadow Mirror world). Thus, the Einst are unneeded in this world, which was born of chaos.
And so, it's over. Excellen is back. The Einst have left since they are not needed in this world, which cannot provide them with what they were looking for. And Kyousuke has given the new Alt its shakedown cruise, showing just how powerful it is. All the seems to remain is a fight to the finish with the Inspectors and Shadow Mirror.
It does not take a genius to figure out that we're going to see a lot of the storylines continue to be quickly wrapped up as we approach the end of the show. This time, it's the turn of the Einst to make their exit, as Kyousuke frees Excellen from Alfimi's grasp. In doing so, it is revealed that the Einst have decided to give up on their attempts to seize the Kyousuke of this world, as he is not the Kyousuke they were looking for. Perhaps they will find the one they are looking for somewhere else. Next, perhaps we will see the end of the Inspectors.
