The Geek Life is a weekly look at what is happening in the Geek Culture. Movies, Comics, Books, Video Games and TV Shows encompass more than just release dates and reviews. This week the Geek Life chats with the SFX Wizards behind Jurassic Park.
Universal Studios released the Ultimate Jurassic Park Trilogy yesterday on Blu-ray. To celebrate its release, the Geek Life was given the chance to sit down with three of the trilogy’s Special Effects Wizards. It was a quick five minutes to be sure, but the chance to sit with special effects legends Dennis Muren, Phil Tippett, and John Rosengrant was a Geek’s dream come true. Here is Mania’s exclusive interview.

The Geek Life’s Final Thoughts:
In no way was 5 minutes enough time. I was given the chance to ask Muren about work working on Raiders but there was so much more I wanted to talk about. Additional questions would have included working on Star Wars in the early days, for both Tippett and Muren. Plus all three worked with the late great Stan Winston. That alone could have drug the interview on for hours. My biggest Geek moment came when Phil Tippett told me to sit up in the chair. Now I can say I was directed by the Phil Tippett. I’m sorry there isn’t any Jurassic Park music here. YouTube wasn’t accommodating on that particular tune.
