Print Moore Carrie’s Mom

A couple of weeks ago it was announced that Hugo star Chloe Moretz was going to star in the new Carrie remake. That news has since become official. Yesterday it was announced that Julianne Moore will join the cast as Carrie’s mom, Margaret White.

Carrie was originally a novel by horror master Stephen King and made into a film by Brian De Palma in 1976. The film starred an up incoming John Travolta, Piper Laurie, and Sissy Spacek as the title character. A TV Movie was made in 2002 based on the King novel featuring Angela Bettis as Carrie and was directed by David Carson (Star Trek: Generations).

This remake will be adapted by playwright Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Glee and Big Love) and directed by Kimberly Peirce (Stop Loss).
