JJ Abrams recently appeared on the “The Tavis Smiley Show” (on PBS) where he addressed a concern that many Star Wars fans had. Will Disney make the new Star Wars films kid friendly? Will they Disney-ify Star Wars? Abrams had this to say about his new film and Disney’s plans for the next Star Wars film:
“The beauty there is Disney doesn't want that. They are well aware of this and they are very careful to make sure that...they are sensitive to that. They don't want that at all, that's the last thing they want. But that company, which is Marvel, they have...it's incredible the scale of that company. They are as aware of that as anyone.”
Well it appears that Disney, for the time, knows what the older fans of the Star Wars Saga want. We still don’t have any official casting yet, or even a release date. Hopefully, we will have something over the holidays as production of the film begins in January 2015.
