Originally The Flash (played by Grant Gustin) was to have a “backdoor pilot” and not a traditional pilot for the debut of his TV series. After Warner Brothers screened his upcoming episodes on Arrow (episodes 8 and 9) they have decided to give The Flash a more traditional stand alone pilot. This will enable the creative team behind the series (Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and series scribe Geoff Johns) a better chance at fleshing out the character. However, this does effect whether or not The Flash aka Barry Allen will appear in Arrow’s 20th episode as planned.
This traditional pilot is great news for the fans and a wake up call for all those that are not watching Arrow.
