Now the news on The Wolverine sequel comes via Twitter, but it is from a reliable source. The director of The Wolverine, James Mangold, responded to a fans question on when we would see another stand alone Wolverine movie. Here are the Tweets:

@R__E__D_R__U__M @20centuryfox @ShuDonner We are figuring it all out. At the moment, I'm shooting The next #Wolverine after #XmenApocalypse.

So does this mean we will have a Wolverine film after X-Men: Days of Future Past and before X-Men: Apocalypse (in 2016)? The question on everyone’s mind is will Hugh Jackman be Wolverine again, and then for how long? He has played the character for over 15 years, perhaps it is time. The character does have a long life to him and he can age with the rest of the characters (ever so slightly). The casting change is coming, and will happen in our life time. It happened with James Bond and will happen with Iron Man/ Tony Stark. Sound off below Maniacs, how many more Wolverine appearances does Hugh Jackman have? Who should play him next? Perhaps “Old Man Logan” should be his swan song?
