It looks as if the epic battle of “Marvel vs. DC” is still on for the Summer of 2016. Marvel has confirmed that they are still planning on releasing Captain America 3 on May 6th, 2016. Dan Fellman, Warner Bros. president of domestic distribution, revealed they still have May 6th as their target date for Superman vs. Batman

"It doesn't make a lot of sense for two huge superhero films to open on the same date but there is a lot of time between now and 5/6/16. However at this time, we are not considering a change of date for Batman vs. Superman"

Captain America’s early buzz delivered. The yet untitled Man of Steel sequel has already been mired in production problems, which lead to the released date landing on May 6th. The Man of Steel sequel also has the weight of establishing the Justice League movie. What the Man of Steel sequel has working in its advantage is, all of those heroes for the first time in one film.

We know we are opening a can of worms here at Mania, but we thought we would like to hear your opinions on this release date issue after having seen Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Let us not for get that Marvel has Avengers: Age of Ultron, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Ant-Man all arriving before May 6th, 2016. DC does have... well nothing before May 6th, 2016.

Captain America 3 will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.

Superman vs. Batman will be directed by Zack Snyder.
