On the same day that Bad Robot and JJ Abrams celebrated the Star Wars: Episode VII cast announcement, FOX canceled Almost Human. The Sci-Fi series that was produced by Abrams and Fringe’s J.H. Wyman will not return for a second season. The series, which took place in the 2014 featured a human cop, Karl Urban, and his robot partner, Michael Ealy.

Does this come has any surprise to those of us that know FOX’s track record with Sci-Fi television shows? We here at Mania are sad to see the series go. We did our best to promote the show with updates and reviews. One member of our writing staff described it as Kirk and Spock, but as cops. Michael Ealy is now on our radar, thanks to the show. Hopefully, this will also allow Karl Urban more time to get another Judge Dredd film made. If anything, he is our first choice for Jessie Custer in the up coming Preacher TV series.
