Richard Donner is only just beginning to determine how he will bring the CRAZY TAXI video game to the big screen as a feature film.
While talking to Fred Topol at About.com's Action-Adventure Movies page, Donner spoke of the project's plans, saying, "We're now trying to find a writer. We all have a handle on it - me, the producers and my company. Everybody in my company loves it. Everybody loved CRAZY TAXI from the beginning. I used to love to play it and the opportunity of turning it into a film came up so now we've got to [adapt] a game that has no characters that come to life. So, now we've got to create the characters so that you care about it and you care about them, you get emotionally charged by them and committed. And a good story with this insanity of crazy taxis in a major city. It'll probably be New York."
Regarding using any of the characters from the original game, Donner says, "If they work, if we can embellish upon them, if they can come to life. The characters in the game really have no personalities."
