Dimension Films has snagged the rights to remake Rudy Ray Moore's crazed DOLEMITE. The original 1975 comedy-action film starred comedian Rudy Ray Moore as a fast talking, barely capable of doing real action sequences, hero. The film was so successful that it spawned a sequel as well as other truly unique Moore starring vehicles.

At this time, Dimension Films is developing the project as a starring vehicle for LL Cool J. Moore will be on board the production in an advisory capacity as well as having a part in the film.

The film's story will have a contemporary setting, though still involve a gang of baddies framing Dolemite, who is sent to jail. After he is paroled, Dolemite learns that his old nightclub had been taken over by the bad guys who won't allow him entrance. Dolemite then gathers his "all-girl army of kung fu killers" to aid him in wresting control back from the evildoers.

The project will have a script by Buddy Johnson with Neal Moritz producing.
