Reuters has reported that the XBOX will not launch in Japan this year, despite what Microsoft claims.
The reason for the delay in the Japanese launch of the XBOX is to make the US launch more successful. "We expect Microsoft to make the November launch in the United States which is the largest and the most important market for the U.S. company," says Deustche Securities senior analyst Takashi Oya. "But the XBOX launch in Japan will most likely be pushed back to March -- the kids' spring break season in Japan, as Microsoft needs to bring in as many consoles as possible to the U.S market at the Christmas season."
Microsoft has not yet revealed the XBOX Japanese release date or price, stating only that, "we can't say that clearly. All we can say is not too far behind the U.S. debut."
Microsoft is expected to announced the release and pricing info for the XBOX at the TOKYO GAME SHOW next month.
