This isn't Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's LOST WORLD, and it sure ain't JURASSIC PARK. On the mysterious continent of Dinotopia, humans and intelligent, talking dinosaurs live in harmony, but that peace is shattered when a plane crashes into this strange paradise and brings with it two young men from the outside world. Karl (Tyron Leitso) and David (Wentworth Miller) Scott enter Waterfall City, meet a cast of colorful characters human and dino and discover that soon, they may be the only hope for saving Dinotopia's future.

Debuting Sunday, May 12 on ABC, and based on the Hugo Award-winning DINOTOPIA books by James Gurney, the Hallmark miniseries is being helmed by DEMOLITION MAN director Marco Brambilla, who wanted to preserve the spirit of the books while crafting a unique storyline of his own.

"When I read the Simon Moore script, it was obviously inspired by the book, but in terms of the storyline it was unique," says Brambilla. "A lot of it had to do with using the language of the book and the various environments and rules of this society. I think the mistake a lot of people make is when you try to be too true to the material. In this case it's an illustrated book, so it's not like trying to adapt HARRY POTTER."
