In the console game industry, if you don't have a publisher, you're in a lot of trouble. Alex Pantelias knows this, he's a producer at Amaze Entertainment and worked on SAMURAI JACK: THE SHADOW OF AKU. The game, originally slated to be released by BAM! Entertainment, was left without a publisher for quite a while.

"We started working on the game for Bam in August 2002, and Bam went away for a while," says Pantelias. "And then Sega picked it up."

Several publishers were attempting to buy the rights to SHADOW OF AKU during this time, but that still didn't make it any less stressful. Sega finally picked up the rights to an almost complete game, thus allowing it to be announced just a few short weeks before its release... much to the delight of SAMURAI JACK fans everywhere.
